FESTIVE CHEER AT THIS YEAR'S ROYAL ULSTER WINTER FAIR

FESTIVE CHEER AT THIS YEAR'S ROYAL ULSTER WINTER FAIR

On Thursday 12th December 2019, the 34th Royal Ulster Winter Fair in association with sole sponsor Danske Bank, returned to the Eikon Exhibition Centre, Balmoral Park, Lisburn.

Large crowds filled the Eikon Exhibition Centre for Northern Ireland’s premier annual dairy event as cattle competed in the ring for Championship titles. The sought after Supreme Inter Breed Champion title was won by Lisnalty Megasire Rituel exhibited by Paul Hannan from Crecora. Clandeboye Estate, Bangor received the title of Reserve Champion with Clandeboye Tequila Cookie and Tubbertoby Holsteins, Drogheda returned home with the Honourable Mention for Tubbertoby Armsni Fleur.

This popular event in the run up to Christmas enabled farmers, dairy enthusiasts and industry specialists to network and do business. It also offered a timely opportunity for farmers, their families and exhibitors to come together socially in the lead up to the festive period.

Danske Bank were once again the sole sponsors of the event. Speaking about the ongoing partnership, Rodney Brown, Head of AgriBusiness at Danske said, “2019 has been another successful year for the Winter Fair. There was a fantastic atmosphere throughout the day and whilst there is an underlying air of political and economic uncertainty, it seemed to have been left at the door as visitors enjoyed the excellent show of dairy cattle and took the opportunity to visit the superb variety of trade stands.  We are delighted to work with the Royal Ulster Agricultural Society (RUAS) and we are privileged to see our ongoing investment in the event contribute to its growth and success.”

Alan Crowe, RUAS Chief Executive added; “We are delighted with the success of the 34th Royal Ulster Winter Fair in association with sole sponsor Danske Bank. With their continued generous financial support, Danske Bank has played a pivotal role in the ever-growing success of this event and it remains a very popular event in our agri-calendar in the run up to Christmas.

“There was a great atmosphere throughout the day and the ever-growing crowd enjoyed the fierce competition of top quality livestock as well as the array of quality trade stands on show. It was a wonderful day and we look forward to returning in 2020 to do it all again.”
