DOWN RALLY RETURNS
Down Rally will be returning to the Eikon Exhibition Centre on Saturday 20th July 2019 for their Service Park.
Deputy Clerk of the Course, Brian Crawford commented, "our Service Park will again be based at the Eikon Centre near Lisburn and it'll be great to welcome all our competitors back to this great facility."
The Eikon Exhibition Centre will again host the Service Park where motorsport fans can get up close to some of the latest rallying machinery and watch while mechanics check for damage and prepare the car for the next loop of stages. As the clock ticks down, engineers are under pressure to make decisions on the best set up for the car, not to mention tyre choices in our every changeable climate.
Competitors from the McGrady Insurance Northern Ireland Rally Championship will again be joined by friends from 'across the water' competing in the Protyre Asphalt Rally Championship as well as the new FUCHS Lubricants Classic Mini Challenge. The combination of these three championships will ensure there is nothing skimpy about the variety of cars putting on a display for spectators.
Also based at the Eikon Exhibition Centre, and back by popular demand, is the G Design Engineering Spectator Power Stage. Watch as competitors tackle the tight and twisty half mile stage at times just metres away from our spectator viewing areas! A rally cannot be won on a spectator stage but one wrong move, and it can certainly be lost!
All the activities based at the Eikon Exhibition Centre are both family friendly and accessible to wheelchair users and those with limited mobility.
